The protection dua for morning and evening

3 timesبِسْمِ اللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُBismillahil-ladhi la yadurru ma‘asmihi shai’un fil-ardi wa la fis-sama’, wa huwas-Sami‘ul-‘Alim. (3 times)In the name of Allah, with whose name nothing on earth or in the heavens can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.Jami‘ at-Tirmidhi 3388 (Imam Tirmidhi: hasan sahih gharib); also Sunan Abi Dawud 5088.

The last three surahs

Recite Surah Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq and An-Nas three times each in the morning and evening. The Prophet ﷺ said: “They will suffice you against everything.” (Jami‘ at-Tirmidhi 3575; Imam Tirmidhi: hasan sahih gharib)

Also recite Ayatul Kursi before sleeping: a guardian from Allah stays with you until morning (Sahih al-Bukhari 2311).

When you stop at a new place

Is there a dua to protect children?

Yes. The Prophet ﷺ sought protection for Sayyiduna Hasan and Sayyiduna Husain with “U‘idhukuma bi-kalimatillahit-tammah…” (Jami‘ at-Tirmidhi 2060; Imam Tirmidhi: hasan sahih; see also Sahih al-Bukhari 3371).
