What Questions 70 to 77 Revise

Page 72 continues the revision section with questions 70 to 77 on Lessons 21. Each topic is explained below in our own words, with an example and a link back to the lesson. Use the page as a quiz: ask the question, let your child answer, then check.

I‘adah

After stopping, going back a little and reading on, joined to what follows, is called I‘adah. Use it when a stop has cut a phrase in the middle of its meaning. Back to Lesson 21 (page 54).

The wazifa يَا خَبِيْرُ

The book recommends repeating يَا خَبِيْرُ (“O All-Aware”) as a help towards piety and following the Sunnah, citing Masa’il-ul-Quran, p. 290. It appears on page 19.

The five stages of knowledge

Silence, listening carefully, remembering what was heard, acting on what was learnt, and passing the knowledge on. For a child learning the Qa‘idah this is the right order of a lesson: listen to the teacher first, then repeat.

The wazifa يَا عَلِيْمُ for memory

Recite يَا عَلِيْمُ 21 times with Salat upon the Holy Prophet ﷺ once before and once after, blow on water and drink it before breakfast for 40 days, to strengthen memory (Shajarah ‘Attariyyah, p. 46, as cited on page 43).

The last three signs of Waqf
